Abstract Study
11" x 15"

Many artists sign their name to a painting and then follow it with the initials of one or more of the various art societies of which they are a 'Signature Member'.  I usually avoid this convention, but with an abstract painting you have to or people won't take it seriously.  Hence the signature on this one; Pavloff  B.S.P.S.A, indicating that I am a signature member of the Bigshot Painters and Sculptors of America, a group I founded years ago for just this purpose.

San Joaquin Still Life

This started out as a Class 8 'paint your way out of the mud' exercise which began to take on a life of it's own.
It began as a wall and a window - which was boring so I decided to add some graffiti.

Naturally I started with the time honored "For a good time call -----------"
which the girl in question promptly erased with her lipstick - adding an epithet of her own.
Not to be outdone, the chauvinist pig responded by calling her a name,
and at that time I decided it had gone far enough!

Meanwhile, Juan and Carmen are still in love, and Carlos is just in love with himself.
As for R. M.?  Who knows?

Finally - Pavloff stepped up and took responsibility for the whole mess.

Treasures of the Sea
Image  26" x 20"
Framed  36" x 27"

This painting was the artwork for the 1999 Bodega Bay Fisherman's Festival poster.
All the species are native to the California Coast, and one in particular is highly sought after by  the fishermen.

Tidal Zone
5" x 7"
Sold

Another afternoon spent goofing off in the studio, but it beats working and it's so much fun it's almost embarrassing.

Now you're going to look at it and say, "My kid could'a done that!"  And you're probably right.  Kids like to goof off as much as we do, and a lot of times they're even better at it!
