CLASSES for ADULTS

The paintings below are done by two adult painters who have both had some previous lessons, and who now are interested in learning to 'push the envelope' a little and go beyond the limitations of traditional watercolor technique.  These examples are still fairly traditional in approach, and the artists are using both glazing (layering the paints) and granulation (painting wet into wet) to add interest and complexity to the colors.

They're working with both synthetic and natural bristle brushes in both round and flat shapes.  They're trying out a variety of 300 pound papers in cold press, soft press, and hot press, and both are enjoying the experience of learning to guide the process at times, and letting the process guide them at others.

I once had a wise teacher who made a point to tell each class to 'honor' their work by treating it with respect, and by sometimes taking a picture they especially liked and having it nicely matted and framed.  That is good advice for every painter, and I am honoring the work of these two painters by putting their work on this website so they can see their paintings displayed with pride in a professional setting.

I sincerely hope they are as proud of their efforts as I am of them.
